The CIC-NET Project is structured according to a set of essential tasks:
Task 1 Definition of shapes for engineering information exchange (CAD/CAE).
The goal of this task is to produce a set of recommendations which lead to an engineering information exchange more effective between phases and actors of the building process. Firstly a document of reference has been prepared with the specification of the building activities that generate information, the different intervenients and which in an exact way indicates the contribution of each one of them to the general working plan and which are the main existing information flows. We intend to define a set of shapes and practices that when generally adopted may allow to avoid that tasks made beforehand have to be repeated in subsequent stages. Rules for the management of documents will be proposed, including the structure of contents and management of versions, as well as recommendations about the shape to be used.
Task 2 Definition of shapes for building agreements and proposals.
With this task we intend to develop a conceptually correct pattern of a structure for the organisation of building agreements for building works, which taking into account the Portuguese practices, allows us the creation of a computer tool of support to this activity.
Based on a very complete file of measurement articles the specific articulated of a building can be generated, and from this generate the general and specific technical specifications of the building, organised in duly structured files. This task will be naturally articulated either with task 1 and with task 3, related with the coding of materials.
Besides the development model and the computer tool, we want to make available the file of the general articulated and some examples of files for building agreements related to materials and building elements and the execution of the works.
Task 3 Definition of a classifying and coding structure for building products.
It is the aim of this task the definition of a structure to classify and code the building products. This way we intend to standardise the practices usually adopted, allowing the different intervenients to use a common language. To serve of support and of demonstration for the methodology proposed by the project, a computer application and its data base will be developed. That application will allow the introduction in the database of a complete information about the building products commercialised in Portugal. The database will make it easier the selection of the products needed and, in general, the different operations that deal with building products.
Task 4 Construction of an interface with materials suppliers
The aim of this task is the definition of a model of Internet sites to divulge building materials and associated services.
In the scope of this task, the defined model will be implemented in the pilot companies of the project.
Task 5 Divulgence of the project results
The aim of this task is the divulgence of the activities and results of the CIC-NET Project. It includes the development of an Internet site to divulge the results of the Project and the dynamization of discussion forums and groups of interest. It also includes the elaboration of the technical manual of the project, elaboration of paperbacks and other divulgence materials and sessions for presenting and discussing the results.
Task 6 Project Management
Its aim is to make the global management of the CIC-NET Project.
